Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time culinary team member at Trillium Court Home in Kincardine, ON to provide high-quality meals, nutrition, and friendly service to residents in a clean, safe environment.

You will review regular and therapeutic menus, prepare foods according to prescribed diets, and assist with meal service while maintaining records and quality standards. The role includes supervising Dietary Aides and stepping in during the Dietary Manager's absence.

Qualifications

• Chef training or culinary management certificate or diploma meeting OLTCH Act requirements.
• Certificate of qualification as a Cook (OLTCH Act requirements).
• Post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or post-secondary degree in food and nutrition.
• Red Seal certification preferred.
• Current Food Handler's Certificate.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (within three months) or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Reviews regular and therapeutic menus and sets up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
• Prepares food and nourishments in accordance with prescribed diets.
• Maintains all required records and monitors quality and quantity of food.
• Directs Dietary Aides in basic food preparation procedures and in serving activities at mealtimes.
• Assumes responsibility for routine departmental operations in the absence of the Dietary Manager.

Education
