Job summary

Extendicare Guildwood Home in Scarborough, ON is seeking a Cook to provide high quality food, nutrition, and customer service to residents in a clean and safe environment. You will review regular and therapeutic menus, set up equipment and supplies, and prepare meals in accordance with prescribed diets.

You will supervise Dietary Aides during meals, maintain records, and take responsibility for departmental operations in the absence of the Dietary Manager.

Qualifications

• Chef training or culinary management certificate or diploma meeting OLTCH Act requirements.
• Certificate of qualification as a Cook under OLTCH Act.
• Post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition or a post-secondary degree in food and nutrition.
• “Red Seal” certification preferred.
• Current Food Handler's Certificate.

What You Bring

• Chef training or culinary management certificate or diploma from a program that meets the requirements of the OLTCH Act, or
• Certificate of qualification as a Cook issued by an authority meeting the requirements of the OLTCH Act, or
• Post‑secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post‑secondary degree in food and nutrition.
• “Red Seal” certification preferred.
• Current Food Handler's Certificate.
