Job summary

Compass Group Canada in Maple Ridge is seeking a Cook to prepare, pre-cook and cook food in a high-volume setting in compliance with corporate standards and safety policies.

You will build mise en place, ensure quality service, and maintain cleanliness while coordinating with other departments. Strong communication, speed, and safety practices are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience including restaurant or prep cook roles.
• Food Safety Certification required.

Job description

The hourly wage rate for this position is $27.56 - (base pay+SSO wage*)*Base 22.55 + 5.01/hr SSO wage) *Single Site Order (SSO) is subject to the direction of government and may be discontinued at any time.

Prepares food in accordance with applicable corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.


• Prepare \"mise en place\" (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for high volume production.


• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.


• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.


• Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.


• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.


• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
