Cook (Casual) at Golden Life

Join Golden Life as we expand our seniors housing, care, and services in western Canada. We are seeking qualified, casual Cooks to join our team at Garden View Village in Kimberly, BC. If you are a team player with previous cooking experience, we want to hear from you!

The primary focus of this role is food preparation, including veggies, meats, sauces, and salads. Responsibilities include:

• Prepare desserts and soups.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen, following safe food handling procedures.
• Manage and rotate stock, including dating and containing food.
• Coordinate meal service and equipment sharing with colleagues.
• Communicate with dishwashers and servers regarding cleanup.
• Engage briefly with guests to ensure satisfaction.
• Complete records related to inventory, orders, and budgeting.
• Provide nutritious, appealing meals to customers.

Qualifications:

• Secondary school completion.
• College program in cooking or equivalent relevant experience.
• Food Safe Certification.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector - Criminal Record Check.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, team-oriented, with problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
• Availability to work weekends and flexible hours.
• Negative TB screening and complete immunization record as per BC CDC guidelines.
