Job summary

AgeCare Cariboo Place in Williams Lake, BC, is seeking a Cook for our long-term care residence. You will prepare meals, ensure timely service and maintain safe, sanitary work areas.

The role requires prior cook experience, preferably with supervisory duties, a current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate, and a high school diploma or equivalent. A diploma/certificate in quality food preparation is preferred. This casual position offers a wage of $29.72 per hour.

What Is In It For You:

• Checks special diet orders for new admissions to ensure they are correct (as required).
• Responds to resident or family member concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or brings to the attention of the Food Services Manager/Supervisor.
• Directs Food Services Workers in the performance of their duties and assumes responsibility for the operation of the Food Services Department (as required).

What You Will Need

• Prior experience as a Cook preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
• A minimum of public-school education is required. High school education is preferred.
• Must have a diploma/certificate or equivalent in quality food preparation and production.
