Job description

Hotel Arts is currently looking for a Cook 2 position in our Banquets Kitchen. We are seeking someone who can consistently deliver quality and efficient production daily in an organized manner. This cook will primarily work alongside the Banquet Sous Chef to provide excellent culinary service during our renowned banquets and events.

The successful applicant will possess the following traits:

  • High interest in food and a keen interest in the culinary arts
  • Ability to maintain food quality and presentation standards within a consistency-based framework
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
  • Flexibility in the work environment
  • Ensure all menu items are prepared efficiently to standard and customer requirements
  • Complete mise en place in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of all food products
  • Adhere to provincial health regulations and food handling techniques
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Be aware of food costs, portion control, and waste management

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar position OR
  • A journeyman or working toward Red Seal certification
  • Culinary educational background is an asset
  • Flexible weekly schedule and availability
