Aspira Douglas Crossing Retirement Living is seeking a Cook for a permanent part-time role. You will prepare nutritious meals respecting dietary needs and cultural considerations, contributing to residents’ health and dining satisfaction.

You will follow recipes and production sheets in a fast-paced environment, ensuring portion control and high quality. Eligible to work in Canada and able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum education required.
• A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate.
• Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality.
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position.

What makes you a great fit?

• You have hands-on experience preparing meals and snacks in a fast-paced kitchen, following recipes, production sheets, and menu guidelines.
• You understand the importance of meeting prescribed dietary requirements, proper food temperatures, and portion control while maintaining high quality standards.
• Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advises team leader of problems and makes recommendations about corrective action
• In the absence of the team leader, assumes responsibility for departmental operations including menu changes as necessary, requisitions and purchases food and other supplies from authorized suppliers
