Camp QML is celebrating our 75th anniversary this year! We are sponsored by the United Church of Canada, and our mandate is “to encourage in a year-round setting, the development of skills for living with others in a community which fosters growth in Christian faith and service.” As each child comes to camp, it is intentional that they be part of an active and vital caring community of young people, and to do that WE NEED YOU!

We are a residential overnight camp for co-ed campers aged 7-14 years old, located on Moira Lake (halfway between Madoc and Tweed, north of Belleville). Our programs include crafts, music, canoeing, high ropes, low ropes, archery, orienteering, initiatives, swimming, rock climbing, hiking, and overnights. Campers stay for 1 week in cabins or our lodge with peers of similar age and 3-4 counselors.

Work begins with a staff training Retreat on May 3rd weekend, followed by a full staff orientation and training week from June 27 to July 1. Staff spend camp weeks onsite, sleeping in a camper or staff cabin depending on the role. Staff come from across Ontario and beyond, with many returning annually. Staff have a 3-hour break between co-ed sessions and a 3-day break between some sessions. Staff are responsible for bringing toiletries and linens and join campers for all meals.
