Job summary

Farm Boy Inc. in Pickering, Ontario, is seeking team members who bring a passion for fresh food and outstanding customer service. You’ll help prepare delicious offerings, assist customers at the counter, and contribute to a high-quality, welcoming shopper experience.

You will support daily operations, maintain clean and organized display areas, and follow HACCP and safety standards while working a dynamic schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
• Completion of a post-secondary program with emphasis in culinary arts; up to 1 year of related experience.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high quality, attention to detail, and cleanliness.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to thrive in a fast-paced setting with deadlines and physical work.
• Fluency in English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, confident, and engaging customer service reflecting Farm Boy’s standards.
• Greet and assist customers using Farm Boy Service Standards; share product knowledge and enthusiasm.
• Prepare and cook fresh offerings for hot/cold bars and service cases, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Package, stock, rotate, and merchandise counters and shelves with clear signage.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work/storage areas; perform housekeeping tasks.
• Follow Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and equipment-use policies.

You’ll help bring the Farm Boy’s food experience to life by combining your passion for fresh food with exceptional customer service. From preparing delicious meals to connecting with customers at the counter, you’ll play a key role in creating the welcoming, high-quality experience our shoppers know and love. • Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service that reflects Farm Boy’s commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.
• Welcome, greet, and assist customers using Farm Boy Service Standards while sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for our products.
• Prepare and cook fresh offerings for our hot and cold bar, grill station, and service cases, ensuring quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Package, stock, rotate, and merchandise display counters and shelves, maintaining high product standards and accurate signage.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work and storage areas through general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing.
• Follow all corporate policies and procedures with particular focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP compliance, and proper equipment use.
• Complete designated opening and closing procedures and provide support to fellow Team Members as needed.
• Support the team with additional duties on a periodic basis.

• Completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in culinary arts, plus up to one year of experience in a culinary or food-service environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

• A collaborative, team-oriented approach supported by strong communication and organizational skills.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
