Job summary

Greystone Manor Retirement Residence in Maple Ridge is seeking a casual cook to prepare lunch and dinner, plan menus, and manage the dining room supervision under the Food & Beverage Manager.

The role supports a kitchen team, with a 2–4 day per week schedule from 10:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. The starting wage is $21.12 hourly, based at Greystone Manor Retirement Residence, Maple Ridge, BC.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• 1–3 years of experience in a fast-paced, professional kitchen.
• Food Safe Level 1 Certification.
• Positive team player with good communication and collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Cook meals according to the weekly menu.

JOB SUMMARY

Greystone is an independent senior living home and our meals served are all of regular texture (no puree,scratch cooking,etc.). Cook is responsible for lunch and dinner preparation as well as menu planning and management of the dining room (dinner service). Cook will be a part of a kitchen team, working under the supervision of Food & Beverage Manager.

POSITION & WAGE

A Casual Position, 2-4 days a week 10:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Starting hourly wage: $21.12

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cook meals according to theweekly menu
• Follow safe cooking practices

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma
• Minimum of one to three years of experience in a fast-paced, professional environment focused on delivering a superior culinary experience
• Food Safe Level 1 Certification
• Positive team player, effective communicator and actively fosters an environment of trust and collaboration
• Interested in working in a professional environment guided by an experienced and passionate Executive Chef

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires a significant amount of lifting, bending, walking, sitting and standing. Lifting 50-lbs. maximum. More frequent lifting of 20 lbs. or less. A regular day may involve four (4) hours of walking and frequent bending or crouching.
