The Berkeley is seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team. You’ll prepare fresh meals from scratch for approximately 80 residents, following a five-week rotating menu with two choices at each service.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Cook.
  • Culinary certificate or equivalent experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen best practices.
  • Excellent and safe knife-handling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fresh ingredients and meals from scratch, including appetizers, entrées, desserts, and baked goods.
  • Follow our five-week rotational menu, recipes, and meal plans while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and special events.
  • Work closely with the kitchen and serving team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety.
  • Keep your work area organized and productive throughout the day.

What You’ll Do

  • Baking experience is an asset.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to stay productive during slower periods.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong team spirit.
