As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation and contribute to creating an enjoyable dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to our menu specifications and quality standards.
- Follow recipes and cooking techniques accurately to ensure consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation of all menu items. Pay close attention to plating details to maintain our high-quality standards.
- Adhere to proper food safety and sanitation practices at all times, including storage, handling, and cooking procedures. Monitor food temperatures and ensure compliance with health code regulations.
- Prepare ingredients, including chopping vegetables, slicing meats, and assembling components for dishes. Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders during peak service hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation, including equipment, utensils, and cooking surfaces. Keep inventory of supplies and communicate any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen manager or supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff members to ensure smooth operations and timely service. Communicate effectively with servers and expediters to fulfill guest orders accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct regular quality checks on food items to ensure they meet our standards for freshness, flavor, and appearance. Address any concerns or discrepancies promptly to maintain guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook or breakfast/brunch cook in a restaurant or culinary setting preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, 7-11 weekends, holidays, and early mornings as required
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in a hot kitchen environment.
- Food handler's certificate or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
