Job summary

Farm Boy Inc. in Brantford, Ontario is hiring a team member to bring the fresh-food experience to life at the counter and in the hot/cold bars.

You will prepare meals, greet customers, stock displays, maintain cleanliness, and follow HACCP and safety procedures. The role requires a post-secondary program in culinary arts plus up to one year of experience, and a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Our designed requirement: completion of a post-secondary culinary program and up to 1 year of culinary or food-service experience.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and cleanliness.
• Strong communication and organizational skills in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, engaging customer service at the counter and dining areas.
• Prepare and cook fresh offerings for hot and cold bars, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Package, stock, rotate, and merchandise displays; maintain signage.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with HACCP and safety policies.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and support teammates as needed.

You’ll help bring the Farm Boy’s food experience to life by combining your passion for fresh food with exceptional customer service. From preparing delicious meals to connecting with customers at the counter, you’ll play a key role in creating the welcoming, high-quality experience our shoppers know and love. • Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service that reflects Farm Boy’s commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.
• Welcome, greet, and assist customers using Farm Boy Service Standards while sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for our products.
• Prepare and cook fresh offerings for our hot and cold bar, grill station, and service cases, ensuring quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Package, stock, rotate, and merchandise display counters and shelves, maintaining high product standards and accurate signage.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work and storage areas through general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing.
• Follow all corporate policies and procedures with particular focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP compliance, and proper equipment use.
• Complete designated opening and closing procedures and provide support to fellow Team Members as needed.
• Support the team with additional duties on a periodic basis.

• Completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in culinary arts, plus up to one year of experience in a culinary or food-service environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
