Job Details

• Title: Maintenance Technician- Electrical
• Location: Newmarket, ON
• Shift: Day Shift: Monday- Friday 7am - 3:30pm

Job Description

The Controls Technician maintains, adjusts, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical and controls equipment such as motors, motor control circuits, power distribution systems up to 600 VAC, sensors, instrumentation, PLCs, AC drives, DC drives, and servo drives. They assist with installation and design of new equipment, including training, programming, sensors, and wiring, focusing on continuous improvement, efficiency, and cost reduction. They lead and manage electrical and controls improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or degree in a related field; certifications like Electrical Engineering, Automation, or licenses (442A, 447A) are assets.
• 3-5 years manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Teamwork skills across functions.
• Proactive, energetic, problem-solving attitude.
• Experience with equipment installation, integration, and use of mechanical and electrical tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and improvements on electrical and controls equipment.
• Troubleshoot to component level using technical publications.
• Understand facility electrical/mechanical systems and Rockwell Software Platform.
• Ensure safety and GMP compliance, including Lockout Tagout.
• Lead small projects, improve electrical PMs, and support TPM initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with team members and support operations as needed.
• Modify PLC logic, HMI programs, and servo controls to enhance performance.
• Support new control technology implementation and system management.
• Increase system MTBF and reduce downtime through programming and process improvements.
