Key Requirements

  • Must be able to work rotating shift schedules
  • Must be able to commute to Bolton

As a member of the Heat Treat / Saw Team, you will be responsible for receiving, processing, sorting and delivering incoming material to appropriate work areas and/or responsible for preparing products and equipment or loading/unloading and securing shipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to set up the Bandsaw machine, material & its cutting parameters and adjust for each shop order.
  • Operate, control, and maintain Bandsaws & Heat-Treating furnaces and related equipment.
  • Sets furnace controls to regulate temperatures and heating time.
  • Perform skilled maintenance, set-up and troubleshooting functions as required.
  • Interpret and respond to the needs of the equipment.
  • Prepare supplied parts for processing. Load and unload material, furnaces, bins, baskets, fixtures, etc.
  • Follow written procedures, shop orders and/or customer paperwork.
  • Verify quality of all finished product. Records time and production data.
  • Bring any irregularities or non-conformities to attention of supervisor or management.
  • Promote safety and good housekeeping practices.
  • Assist with performing equipment maintenance, as necessary.
  • Adds / removes material from furnace, using crane, or an Industrial walkie to transfer it to next production stage.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • Assist in troubleshooting fit, form and function issues and provide support as needed to customers

Skills/Qualifications

  • High School/GED diploma or certified apprenticeship program.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment, 1-3 years relevant work experience considered an asset, mechanical aptitude required. Familiar with imperial and metric system.
  • Ability to read and understand GD&T symbols, blueprint and CAD drawings considered an asset
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools; crane and forklift experience.
  • Experience using measuring and inspection equipment and tools
  • Flexible with rotating shift work
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge required. Experience with basic Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
  • Strong problem solving and customer relation skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
