Job summary

Johnson Controls in Canada is seeking a skilled HVAC Commissioning Technician to join our onsite team in the Calgary area. You will load system-level controller software, perform commissioning and diagnostics, and document changes for as-built records.

You will also communicate progress to management and customers while upholding safety standards. Ideal candidates have diploma or certification in a related technology program and at least two years of installation experience.

• Strong computer skills required for diagnostics and documentation.

What you will do

• Performs system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Solves problems and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems.
• Responds to basic warranty calls.

How you will do it

• Loads system-level controller software.
• Performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e., sensors, actuators, etc.) and completes all required commissioning documentation
• Keeps management and customers informed of job progress and issues
• Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment
• Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation
• Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation
• Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site
• Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training.
• A high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for

• Depending on location, the mounting and termination of low-voltage devices may have special licensing requirements.
• Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
• Preferred Two years experience in installing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
• Proven knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Diploma or certification in a related technology program

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $27.17-41.53 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
