Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building efficiency and safety, is hiring for an on-site technician in Calgary, Alberta. You will perform system commissioning, diagnose basic HVAC and electrical issues, and respond to warranty calls to keep equipment running smoothly.

Load controller software, calibrate sensors, document changes for as-built records, and maintain clear communication with site management and customers.

Qualifications

  • Proven technical capability across electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, wire strippers).
  • Strong computer skills for diagnostics and documentation.
  • Attention to detail in commissioning and testing processes.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills with customers.
  • Class 5 Driver's Licence with clean driving record.

What you will do

Performs system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Solves problems and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems. Responds to basic warranty calls.

How you will do it
  • Loads system-level controller software. Performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e., sensors, actuators, etc.) and completes all required commissioning documentation
  • Keeps management and customers informed of job progress and issues
  • Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment
  • Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation
  • Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation
  • Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site
  • Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. A high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
What we look for
Required
  • Proven technical capability
  • Able to use hand tools (i.e., screwdrivers, wrenches, wire strippers)
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective communication and listening skillsDepending on location, the mounting and termination of low-voltage devices may have special licensing requirements.
  • Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
Preferred
  • Two years experience in installing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
  • Proven knowledge of HVAC systems.
  • Diploma or certification in a related technology program

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $27.17-41.53 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.) This position includes a competitive benefits package.
