Job summary

Kranti Associates Canada Ltd. is seeking a Controls Specialist to join our Carp, Ontario facility. You will program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems while assisting in robots integration and machine vision testing from concept to commissioning.

You’ll work under mentorship of a licensed P.Eng. and contribute to a growing automation group focused on semiconductor industry solutions. On-site with occasional travel for training and commissioning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1–3 years in automation; co-op/internship counts.
  • Foundational PLC programming with a desire to advance.
  • Exposure to industrial or collaborative robots, machine vision systems, motion sizing, or gantries.
  • Field services experience is a strong asset.
  • Willing to travel occasionally and work on-site in Carp, Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems.
  • Assist in programming and integrating industrial and collaborative robots.
  • Configure and test machine vision/camera systems.
  • Integrate sensors and industrial communication systems.
  • Support project execution, documentation, and timelines.
  • Support system commissioning, on-site field service, and client interaction.
  • Grow technical skills and contribute to the engineering department.

Position: Controls Specialist
Location: Carp, Ontario (On-Site Required)

Compensation: $55,000–$65,000/year based on experience

What You’ll Do
  • Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems

What We’re Looking For
  • 1–3 years in the automation industry (co-op and internship experience counts)
  • Must have Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering disciplines.
  • Foundational PLC programming experience with a strong desire to advance
  • Exposure to industrial or collaborative robots, machine vision systems, motion sizing, or gantries is a must.
  • Field services experience is a strong asset — hands-on installation, troubleshooting, or customer-site service work will set you apart
  • Organized, accountable, and solution-oriented with the resilience to grow with the company
  • Must be able to travel from time to time for training and commissioning.
  • Must be able to work full-time on-site in Carp, Ontario (Ottawa west) with options of working from home at times.
