Job summary

SCIO Automation North America in Burlington, Ontario is seeking a Controls Engineer/Technologist 2 to lead portions of design and commissioning tasks, troubleshoot automation issues, and help maintain project timelines and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong PLC and HMI programming, hardware panel design, VFDs and servo systems knowledge, and adherence to PPE and safety practices in a hybrid, travel-including environment.

The Controls Engineer/Technologist 2 leads portions of design and commissioning tasks, troubleshoot complex automation issues, and contribute to maintaining project timelines and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Project).
• Demonstrates a highly reliable work ethic and consistent dependability.
• Proficient in the design and development of hardware panels.
• Applies PLC programming with a strong level of proficiency.
• Capable of supporting and developing general HMI programming solutions.
• Possesses proficient knowledge of VFDs, servo systems, and drive controllers.
• Recognized as an expert in PPE requirements and safety practices.

Current Hours and Starting Time:

• Full Time, 40 hours per week.
• Overtime may be needed.
• Currently Hybrid Work Environment- which includes some travel and time in automotive plants.
