Job summary

Armstrong Fluid Technology is seeking a Control Engineer to design standardized hardware and software control architectures, unifying multiple platforms into a single Soft PLC solution. You will migrate legacy applications, implement HMI migrations, and manage changes through formal release processes to improve reliability and scalability across manufacturing plants.

The role emphasizes a product mindset with repeatable, configurable solutions and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, or related field.
  • 5–7 years in control systems engineering or industrial automation.
  • Experience developing standard, repeatable products, not one-off projects.
  • Proficiency with PLC/Soft PLC platforms and control logic.
  • Familiarity with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Bacnet protocols.
  • Experience with BOM/drawing release and configuration control.

Responsibilities

  • Design standardized hardware and software control architectures across products.
  • Migrate legacy applications to unified Soft PLC platform with reusable components.
  • Lead platform and HMI migrations using standard templates and interfaces.
  • Define and execute test procedures and release criteria for reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across lifecycle stages.
