Job summary

Hargrove & Associates Inc. seeks a Controls & Automation Engineer II to design and implement DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS solutions. You will assist in larger automation projects and may lead small initiatives, providing on-site startup support and guidance to junior engineers.

The role requires a degree in engineering, EIT, and at least one year in industrial controls. A strong knowledge of ISA/IEC standards and vendor systems is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• EIT registration is required; PE preferred upon eligibility.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant industrial experience in controls and automation engineering.
• Ability to implement ISA S88, IEC 61131, ISA S84, OSHA 1910.119, and read related docs.
• Experience with DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS systems (one or more major platforms).
• Ability to create accurate control hardware installation documents from vendor drawings.
• Proficiency with TCP/IP networking and field troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine design of less complex engineering assignments for DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS systems.
• Assist in larger, more complex automation projects or lead small projects.
• Provide on-site startup assistance and technical guidance to junior staff.
• Coordinate work activities with other staff and office leaders.
• Review vendor drawings and field data for Controls input; work under supervision.
