Job summary

SNC-Lavalin Pickering tooling team seeks a Controls and Software Technologist to drive hardware/software refurbishment in nuclear tooling systems. You will evaluate hardware, develop test environments, and maintain software configuration and validation activities.

You will design and test environments, support site operations, and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery while collaborating with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary technical degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings.
• Nuclear QA program knowledge desirable.
• Knowledge of CS change control processes.

Responsibilities

• Timely execution of the assigned software scope.
• Assess hardware and pre-developed software components.
• Design, install, and test a product test environment.
• Provide site support and software maintenance services.
• Maintain development environments, tool installs, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Maintain configuration, document management, and change control systems.
• Support hardware selection and qualification for tooling.
• Prepare/ review validation tests.
• Manage software change using configuration management.
• Prepare work plans for software change activities.
• Analyze OPEX and propose future design changes.
• Ensure technical quality and report potential impacts.
• Plan and schedule software projects.
• Deliver client presentations on software development/maintenance.
• Work safely with the Project Safety Manager.
• Identify growth opportunities in scope.

## **Overview**As a new member of the Pickering tooling team, you will be involved with a variety of exciting refurbishment tools, supporting the design and modifications for the tooling systems. We are seeking an extremely self-motivated Controls and Software Technologist who is eager to advance their career in the nuclear industry. The successful candidate will perform engineering work in compliance with AtkinsRéalis/Candu Energy QA programs, applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong collaboration with colleagues and clients to execute assigned engineering tasks with precision and quality.## **Your role*** Responsible for timely execution of the assigned scope in the assigned software project capacities.* Performing the suitability assessment (and qualifications where needed) of system hardware and pre‐developed software components.* Responsible for designing, installing and testing of an assigned product test environment.* Responsible for site support and software maintenance services.* Implementing and maintaining the development environment (hardware and software) required to support project activities, including tool installation, backup and disaster recovery.* Implementing and maintaining key project support systems (i.e., configuration management, document management and change control systems) for the tooling department.* Supporting the selection and qualification of Control Systems hardware by the tooling group.* Assist on preparing validation tests and/or reviewing the results of the validation testing.* Responsible for change control - Using configuration management system provided by his/her department to maintain software files, releases and documentation.
