Join our Finance Business Partners team—a group driving innovation and value-added services across TELUS. As Controller for SMB and our Centre of Excellence, you'll modernize financial processes, bridge the gap between data and strategy, and empower executives with the insights they need to make confident decisions.
Lead monthly and annual financial planning and reporting cycles for Small & Mid Market Business segments, ensuring accurate and timely actuals and forecasts.
Build and mentor a high-performing team of financial analysts while establishing efficient financial management practices stakeholders can trust.
Serve as the Centre of Excellence linking Finance with Product and Customer Marketing teams to bridge finance and business strategy.
Act as the trusted point of contact for all financial analysis and planning needs across TBS.
Provide strategic analysis and insights to business leaders, helping them navigate complex financial decisions.
Implement best-in-class consolidation processes and tools that improve accuracy while reducing manual effort.
Ensure executives have clear visibility into key business drivers to enable confident decision‑making.
Foster seamless cross‑functional partnerships that align financial planning with stakeholder objectives across the organization.
What you bring
Professional accounting designation (CPA) with 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
Demonstrated success leading and mentoring high-performing teams that embody fair process, entrepreneurial spirit, and measured risk‑taking.
Clear and influential communication skills, including compelling storytelling and executive‑level presentations.
Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and competing timelines.
Deep understanding of TELUS financial systems and proven track record of implementing process improvements and best practices.
Data‑driven decision maker who retains key financial metrics and translates insights into actionable recommendations.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to anticipate how business decisions impact financial performance.
Exceptional collaboration and relationship management skills, with proven ability to influence, negotiate, and solve complex problems across all organizational levels.
Great‑to‑haves
Experience with change management and driving adoption of new financial processes or systems.
Experience leveraging AI tools and automation to streamline financial processes and enhance analytical capabilities.
Experience working with or supporting TBS.
Knowledge of industry‑specific financial challenges in the telecommunications sector.
Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.) as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.
Salary Range: $99,000-$149,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 20%
