SUMMARY

Join CPAC to build on 30 years of unfiltered access to Canadian democracy. The Cable Public Affairs Channel is Canada’s only national bilingual media outlet focused exclusively on politics and public affairs.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Works under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Overseeing Accounting team to ensure accuracy of financial entries and adherence to internal controls.


• Monthly adjusting/accrual entries and working papers.


• Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for senior management and Board of Director reports.


• Coordination, preparation and presentation of budget and financial forecasts and analysis


• Cash flow management.


• Track KPIs.


• Identify and assess new business opportunities and develop strategies to attract new sources of revenues.


• Year-end statement preparation and regulatory financial reporting.


• Audit preparation and liaison with external accounting review firm for year-end audit.

FONCTIONS

• Écritures mensuelles d'ajustement et de régularisation et documents de travail.


• Préparation des états financiers mensuels et trimestriels pour les rapports de la haute direction et du conseil d'administration.


• Coordination, préparation et présentation du budget et des prévisions et analyses financières


• Suivre les indicateurs clés de rendement.


• Identifier et évaluer les nouvelles possibilités commerciales et élaborer des stratégies pour attirer de nouvelles sources de revenu.


• Préparation des états financiers de fin d’exercice et rapports financiers réglementaires.


• Préparation de l'audit et liaison avec le cabinet comptable externe effectuant l'audit d’états financiers de fin d’exercice.

Les responsabilités d'affaires commerciales comprennent, sans s'y limiter, les éléments suivants :

• Négociation de contrats, conformité, assurance d'entreprise et questions juridiques.


• Collaborer avec le conseiller/la conseillère juridique pour examiner les contrats, les accords et autres documents juridiques.


• Identifier et évaluer les nouvelles possibilités commerciales.


• Élaborer des stratégies pour attirer de nouvelles sources de revenu.

COMPÉTENCES ET EXIGENCES

• Baccalauréat en finances, en comptabilité, en administration des affaires, ou dans un domaine connexe. La préférence sera accordée aux comptables professionnels agréés (CPA).


• Plus de 5 ans d’expérience dans une fonction financière de haut niveau au sein d'un organisme à but non lucratif.


• Solides compétences financières et analytiques, avec la capacité d'interpréter les données financières, d'identifier les tendances et de formuler des recommandations stratégiques.


• Solide compréhension des principes financiers, des normes comptables et des exigences réglementaires.


• Excellentes compétences en matière de leadership et de relations interpersonnelles, avec la capacité de communiquer et de collaborer efficacement avec des équipes interfonctionnelles.


• Expérience avérée en matière de planification financière, de budgétisation, de prévision et de modélisation financière.


• Capacité à résoudre des problèmes et à s'épanouir dans un environnement dynamique tout en gérant efficacement des priorités concurrentes.


• Niveau élevé d'intégrité et de professionnalisme ainsi qu'un engagement ferme à adopter des pratiques commerciales éthiques.


• Le bilinguisme (français et anglais) est considéré comme un atout.


• Une expérience relative aux subventions de gouvernements est considérée comme un atout.


• Une expérience antérieure auprès d'un radiodiffuseur canadien est un atout.
