Position Title: Controller Salary & Benefits: 95-110K Position Status: Current vacancy Location: Downtown Ottawa Work Model: Onsite The Controller role is a hands‑on leadership opportunity within a growing, multi‑property residential management organization. With more than 600 apartment units across over 50 locations, the company is strengthening its financial foundation and operational discipline as it continues to expand. This position plays a central role in elevating financial reporting, enhancing systems, and supporting thoughtful, long‑term growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and month‑end processes.
• Lead the continued enhancement, optimization, and use of Yardi Voyager across the organization.
• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements and management reports to support informed decision‑making.
• Manage key external relationships, including banks, accountants, lawyers, insurance providers, and major suppliers.
• Partner closely with ownership and emerging leaders to provide practical financial insight, scenario analysis, and operational guidance.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, streamline workflows, and introduce best practices that support scalability and long‑term stability.

The ideal candidate brings Controller or Accounting Manager experience, ideally within property management or multi‑residential real estate. You will combine strong technical accounting skills with practical operational judgment, and thrive in environments where you can build better systems, solve problems, and work closely with decision‑makers. A CPA designation and experience with Yardi Voyager are strong assets, but equally important is a grounded, approachable style and the motivation to make a lasting impact in a collaborative, entrepreneurial setting.
