Job summary

RENOVCO Inc. in Dorval, Montreal, is seeking an experienced Controller or Senior Bookkeeper to own the full accounting function.

You will be the financial backbone of the operation, overseeing payroll, payables, receivables, and project costing for a growing construction and restoration company. You will work directly with ownership and the operations team to ensure books are clean, current, and audit-ready, support month-end close, and provide reliable financial data to drive margins on active

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting experience.
• QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop proficiency.
• Fully bilingual French and English - written and spoken.
• Experience with GST/QST filing and DAS remittances.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail and professional demeanour.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable - verify, process, and pay supplier invoices
• Prepare, process, and track accounts receivable and client invoicing
• Prepare and submit monthly government tax remittances - DAS, GST, QST
• Record all cash receipts and maintain accurate general ledger entries
• Maintain an orderly and up-to-date accounting filing system in QuickBooks
• Monitor project-level budgets and ensure margins are being respected across active jobs
• Prepare month-end financial reports and support year-end audit process
• Work closely with project managers to track job costs against estimates
• Support the operations team with financial data as needed

The role:

We are looking for an experienced Controller or Senior Bookkeeper to own the full accounting function at RENOVCO. This is a hands-on, senior finance role at a growing construction and restoration company - you will be the financial backbone of the operation, working directly with ownership and the operations team to ensure every project is tracked, every dollar is accounted for, and the books are clean, current, and audit-ready.

If you have a strong construction or renovation accounting background, know QuickBooks inside and out, and take pride in a well-run finance department - this role is for you.

Key responsibilities:
