Position Summary:

The Controller will be a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and accounting operations. This role is critical in driving process improvements and supporting systems transformation across the finance organization. The ideal candidate has previously held a Controller role in a mid-to-large organization and has successfully led or played a key role in finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and fixed assets.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with IFRS or US GAAP (as applicable).
• Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Own the monthly close process and ensure adherence to tight deadlines with high accuracy.
• Partner with FP&A to ensure consistency between actuals and forecasts/budgets.
• Lead or support key finance transformation projects, including:
• ERP and systems upgrades or implementations
• Streamlining processes and automating workflows
• Enhancing the close and consolidation cycle
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and commercial teams to support business decision-making.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience with at least 3–5 years as a Controller in a similar-sized or larger organization.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge; experience in consumer goods or manufacturing a plus.
• Proven experience leading or playing a major role in finance or systems transformation initiatives.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor, etc.); knowledge of BI or reporting tools is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual (English and French) preferred.
