Dilawri Group of Companies in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking an experienced automotive Controller to oversee accounting for multiple dealerships. The role involves travel between dealerships and the regional head office in Mississauga. Pay rate ranges from CAD 80,000 to 120,000 annually.

Responsibilities include leading the Accounting team, managing cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, while ensuring GAAP compliance and collaboration with management to drive profitability.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting or equivalent; CA, CGA, CMA designation preferred.
• Experience in dealership accounting operations in a retail automotive environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven leadership and staff management experience.
• Ability to prioritize, coordinate across departments, and drive tasks to completion.
• Budgeting and financial reporting experience.

• Partner with dealership management and General Manager to drive profitability.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and highlight trends and risks.

• Develop accounting policies and internal controls; improve reporting systems.
• Support managers with clear financial insights to improve performance.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training for accounting staff.
• Oversee Group Health Plan and other benefit programs.

Dilawri Group In Ontario is now actively searching for an experienced automotive Controller to join our team. The role oversees the accounting function for multiple dealerships. Travel will be required between dealerships and our regional head office in Mississauga.

Pay Rate: $80,000-$120,000

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the dealership’s Accounting team, setting clear processes and high standards
• Oversee all financial operations including cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Partner closely with Dealership management and General Manager to drive profitability and long-term planning
• Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, manufacturer requirements, and government standards
• Manage banking relationships, credit lines, insurance, inventory financing, and wholesale liabilities
• Develop and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and efficient reporting systems
• Support department managers with clear financial insights to improve performance
• Oversee recruitment, on-boarding, and training for accounting staff
• Supervise the administration of Group Health Plan and other benefit programs
• Perform other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting or equivalent; professional designation (CA, CGA, CMA) preferred
• Strong knowledge of dealership accounting operations (retail automotive environment)
• High computer literacy with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication with proven interpersonal effectiveness
• Demonstrated leadership ability, including motivating teams and managing departmental operations
• Strong business acumen with sound judgment and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize, coordinate across departments, and drive tasks to completion
• Proven experience in personnel management and expense control (inventory, floor plan, staffing)
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work collaboratively toward shared goals
