Job Summary

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the company's financial and accounting activities. This includes ensuring liquidity, financial planning, reporting, and compliance. The Controller will collaborate with various departments to ensure financial stability and accountability. Candidates should be willing to work in Eastern, Central, or Atlantic time zones. Preference is given to candidates located in Ontario (Toronto, Ottawa), Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec (fluency in English or bilingualism is required).

Must Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 8-10 years of experience in accounting or financial management, including leadership roles.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work remotely in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Planning and Strategy: Develop and maintain financial plans, budgets, and forecasts. Collaborate with the CFO and department heads to align financial strategies with company goals.
• Accounting and Reporting: Manage accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. Prepare and publish monthly financial statements.
• Liquidity Management: Monitor cash reserves and develop strategies to optimize cash flow and meet financial obligations.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with department heads to develop budgets and analyze financial data. Provide insights for decision-making.
