Job description

CONTROLLER
Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Controller to join the Argus Group at our corporate office located at the Boundary Bay Airport in Delta, B.C.

Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller is a key member of the senior leadership team and leads the financial functions of the company, overseeing day-to-day operations of the Finance department and ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission, vision and organizational values. The position offers a dynamic and varied workload in a collaborative, multi-entity environment.

The Argus Group is a privately held collection of affiliated companies that, together, make up the broader Argus Group identity. Each company operates independently, with its own leadership and focus, but benefits from centralized administrative and financial support. Our portfolio includes businesses in Aviation, BC based Wineries, and Technology.

This is a new position and will be responsible for the overall finance function, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, AP and AR, payroll processing and coordination of audit activities. The Controller also directs the Finance Team and oversees implementation of policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and stewardship of assets.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with growing companies that need support in enhancing accounting processes, refining accounting protocols and strengthening their accounting standards. We’re looking for a self-starter and critical thinker who thrives in dynamic environments and is excited by a wide range of responsibilities and new challenges. In this role, you’ll be expected to juggle multiple priorities and adapt quickly as needs evolve.
