Job summary

Devconnectplatform is seeking a Contract Staff Software Engineer to lead Firefox Layout efforts. You will own day-to-day Layout maintenance across Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, tackling CSS, page layout, APZ, text and images.

Work independently at a tech‑lead level to keep the Layout code healthy in a large, mature codebase. Responsibilities include fixing bugs and regressions, keeping tests green, diagnosing cross‑platform Layout problems, and carrying code reviews.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ (JavaScript and/or Rust a plus).
• Solid CSS and page-layout knowledge.
• Strong debugging and optimization in a multithreaded codebase.
• Able to work independently and lead technically in a large, mature codebase.
• Preferred: experience in web browser architecture and development.
• Preferred: web standards experience.
• Preferred: mobile web development, profiling and debugging skills.
• Preferred: experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) in investigation, development, debugging, and testing.

Responsibilities
