You'll set the standards other departments follow, manage vendor performance across the corporation, and be the go-to expert when a contract question needs a confident, informed answer.

REPORTS TO Director of Procurement
CLOSES Aug 28, 2026 11:59 PM
This is more than contract paperwork - it's a mandate to build the systems, standards, and vendor relationships that keep the City's projects on track. You'll have real latitude to shape how contracts are managed corporate-wide, work independently on a wide range of projects, and be recognized as the subject‑matter expert other departments turn to. It's an ideal next step for someone ready to bring structure, judgment, and leadership to a growing procurement function.
The Contract Specialist provides leadership and specialized expertise on contract administration related to bid opportunities, overseeing contract administration and vendor performance management across the full contract lifecycle. You'll monitor compliance, manage amendments, renewals and closeout, mitigate risk, and maintain accurate documentation - fostering the vendor relationships that keep City projects moving, and driving continuous improvement across the procurement and contract management function.
You'll work independently and as part of a team, in a shared and consultative manner with other employees on a daily basis. Expect a wide variety of tasks that call for managing multiple unrelated projects at once and making independent, quality-driven decisions daily. Occasional travel throughout the City to visit facilities and work sites should be expected, in all types of weather.
Your work is subject to periodic check-ins with a member of the Procurement Services Management Team - available to advise on difficult or unusual problems - along with routine internal controls, audit, and report review. You'll report to the Director of Procurement.
