Quality Control Lab Technician could be the perfect opportunity for you. From inspecting and analyzing our products, processes and materials throughout all the production stages to monitoring of our essential effluent treatment system, our team members are essential to maintain and improve our high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties:

  1. Analysis of samples
  2. Preparation and standardization of analytical reagents
  3. Inspection and testing of ingredients
  4. Inspection and testing of components
  5. Inspection and testing of production processes to ensure compliance to requirements
  6. Calibration and maintenance of instrumentation
  7. Monitoring and measurement of production processes for compliance to specifications
  8. Monitoring and measurement of the effluent stream and coordinating with Maintenance on system adjustments
  9. Reporting analysis in a timely manner to Laboratory Manager, Winemaker, and Production Manager as required
  10. Internal Auditing to monitor compliance to ISO9001: FSMS, and QMS
  11. Complete paperwork of measurement and monitoring activities
  12. Reporting and documenting of activities and results
  13. Record keeping demonstrating compliance to QC standards
  14. Identify opportunities for improvement to quality in production packaging
  15. Investigation, troubleshooting and problem solving where necessary
  16. Maintaining the lab in a clean organized manner
  17. Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  1. Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a technical/scientific field. (Chemistry, Microbiology or Food Science would be preferred)
  2. Strong commitment to quality with attention to detail
  3. Results orientated with an ability to prioritize
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  5. Candidate must be hands on, dependable, and self-starting
  6. Good problem-solving abilities
  7. Ability to understand and perform mathematical calculations
  8. Teamwork and customer service skills
  9. Working knowledge with various computer software programs (Microsoft Office)
  10. Ability to work shifts/weekends
  11. Physically capable to lift up to 20kg periodically
  12. Physically capable to spend most of the day walking/standing

Not Required but Nice to Have:

  1. Leadership skills
  2. Advanced Excel
  3. Internal Auditor, HACCP, ISO9001, ISO17025, or other QMS FSMS qualifications
  4. Advanced microbiology knowledge
  5. Advanced knowledge of anaerobic effluent treatment processes
  6. Formal Continuous Improvement training (EG Lean or Lean Six Sigma)
  7. Strategic big picture thinking

Compensation: $23.50/ hr
