Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Ontario is seeking a Personal Support Worker for a contract role ending in June 2027. The position reports to the Health and Wellness Manager and provides personal care, mobility support, and daily living assistance to residents.

Role emphasizes upholding care plans, safety, confidentiality, and collaborative teamwork with staff, residents, and families. Wage is CAD 21.00 per hour, with potential for ongoing opportunities based on performance and staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker program (or provincial equivalent with 600 hours in Ontario/Alberta)
• Experience with seniors in community health services
• Strong written and oral communication
• Organizational and time management skills
• Interpersonal and customer focus
• Current Basic Life Support and First Aid certification
• Ability to perform lifting/transferring tasks

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the plan of care as determined by the supervisor
• Assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to supervisor
• Elevate medical emergencies as appropriate
• Assist with meal preparation as required
• Maintain resident information confidentiality
• Engage with families and other agencies as directed
• Complete tasks as assigned
