Job summary

YW Calgary is seeking a Contract, Policy and Compliance Analyst in Calgary, AB to review contracts, policies, and privacy-related matters. The role supports governance and risk management across departments, identifying legal and reputational risks and advising on revisions to agreements.

The position is 30 hours per week (0.80 FTE) with a full-time equivalent salary range of CAD 70,000–80,000 per year, prorated to CAD 56,000–64,000 for the 0.80 FTE schedule.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of related experience in contract administration, policy development, legal support, privacy, or compliance.
  • Diploma or degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Administration, Law, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation.
  • Identify potential legal, financial, operational, and reputational risks and bring concerns forward to the CFO and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide practical guidance and recommended revisions to contracts and agreements.
  • Support the development, review, and maintenance of organizational agreements, including vendor, service, membership, partnership, and tenant agreements.
  • Maintain contract records and support contract lifecycle management processes.
  • Monitor contract renewal dates and identify opportunities for updates or improvements.
  • Conduct reviews of existing organizational policies to ensure consistency, clarity, compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, duplication, contradictions or outdated content within policies and procedures.
  • Draft policies, recommend revisions and collaborate to support policy development and implementation.
  • Respond to and support privacy-related requests and inquiries.
  • Review organizational practices and documentation to support privacy compliance.
  • Research and investigate privacy concerns, legislative requirements, and best practices.
  • Provide recommendations to support organizational compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Partner with departments across the organization to support contract, policy, and privacy-related needs.
  • Build effective working relationships while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of contracts, policies, and agreements to identify potential risks and areas requiring clarification.
  • Investigate concerns, analyze information, and provide practical recommendations to support organizational decision-making.
  • Monitor changes in legislation, regulatory requirements, and best practices relevant to contracts and compliance.

Description

The Contract, Policy and Compliance Analyst supports YWCA Calgary by providing expertise in contract review and management, privacy-related requests, and organizational policy development and maintenance. This role is responsible for identifying legal, operational, and reputational risks within contracts, agreements and policies while providing recommendations and guidance to support informed decision-making.

Working collaboratively across departments, the Contract, Policy and Compliance Analyst reviews contracts, partnership agreements, tenant agreements and other organizational documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives . This role also supports privacy-related inquiries and requests, assists with policy reviews and updates, and helps strengthen organizational governance practices.

COMPENSATION

This position is scheduled for 30 hours per week (0.80 FTE). The full-time equivalent salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 annually, with a prorated salary range of $56,000 to $64,000 annually for the 0.80 FTE schedule. Compensation is based on a number of factors, including relevant experience, education, qualifications, and demonstrated skills, with the starting salary typically falling within the posted range.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation

Identify potential legal, financial, operational, and reputational risks and bring concerns forward to the CFO and relevant stakeholders

Provide practical guidance and recommended revisions to contracts and agreements

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Additional education or training in privacy legislation, compliance, risk management, or contract administration is an asset

Experience reviewing and analyzing contracts, agreements, policies, or other legal and organizational documentation

Experience identifying risks, inconsistencies, and compliance concerns and providing recommendations

Experience supporting privacy requests and privacy compliance initiatives

Ability to identify risks, inconsistencies, contradictions, and gaps within complex documents
