Job summary

City of Vaughan seeks a Junior Developer on a contract up to 18 months to assist with technical systems support, analyze requirements, design custom solutions, and help deliver in-house software applications.

The role involves hands-on development, testing, incident handling, and ongoing maintenance across City systems. A two-year college diploma and at least one year in information systems are required, with flexibility to work outside regular hours and a valid Ontario G license.

Qualifications

• Two-year College Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or suitable equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience in the field of Information Systems. Software development experience is an asset.
• Experience in architecture, IT operations, Web-development, Mobile development, enterprise solutions, or telecommunications is preferred.
• Ability to attend City related meetings and work outside regular hours.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design, development, and delivery of custom applications.
• Provide hands-on fixes, install software/hardware, and configure systems and applications.
• Support testing of new/existing software under development or consideration for purchase.
• Field incident tickets and communicate issues to stakeholders.
• Maintain and enhance performance of software and applications across the organization.
