Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver regular financial and management reporting to support decision-making, including reports for the Board.
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements for the Ministry of Health and Ontario Health.
  • Maintain accurate financial and statistical ledgers, ensuring records are complete and up to date.
  • Coordinate budgets, year-end audit preparation, internal controls, fixed asset and investment accounting, payroll deduction submissions, and policy updates.
  • Support coordination between A/R, A/P, payroll, and broader finance function; provide payroll backup as needed.
  • Contribute to finance-related projects, report development, process improvements, and policy maintenance.
  • Work with healthcare funding structures and reporting requirements; navigate healthcare-specific rules.
  • Operate within financial systems and manage manual processes where automation is limited.
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders and support staff and patient/family-centered care.

Job description

Our client, a healthcare organization, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Financial Reporting Coordinator to join their finance team on a 13-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who can step into a key role, provide stability to the team, and support accurate financial reporting and processes. In this position, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial and statistical records, preparing management and Board reporting, and ensuring timely quarterly and annual reporting to the Ministry of Health and Ontario Health. Working closely with the CFO and broader finance team, you will contribute to the organization’s financial stability while supporting process improvements and a variety of finance initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver regular financial and management reporting to support decision-making, including reports for the Board.
  • Coordinate and complete quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements for the Ministry of Health and Ontario Health.
  • Maintain accurate financial and statistical ledgers, ensuring records are complete and up to date.
  • Coordinate key finance activities, including operating and capital budgets, benchmarking, year-end audit preparation, internal controls, fixed asset and investment accounting, payroll deduction submissions, and policy updates.
  • Support effective coordination between A/R, A/P, payroll, and the broader finance function.
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing and submissions as required.
  • Contribute to finance-related projects, including report development, process improvements, and the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Work with complex funding structures and reporting requirements, with the ability to learn and navigate healthcare-specific requirements.
  • Work effectively within existing financial systems, and confidently manage manual processes where automation is limited.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, addressing issues promptly and applying appropriate policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Support the organization’s strategic priorities while promoting a strong focus on staff and patient/family-centered care and engagement.
Qualifications
  • Healthcare experience is ideally preferred, particularly exposure to Ministry of Health/Ontario Health reporting and complex funding models; strong NPO or government-funded experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in NPO funded by the Ontario government with similar funding models will also be considered.
  • Proven experience in maintaining financial/statistical ledgers, preparing management reports, and reporting to health ministries.
  • Comfortable working with manual processes.
