Job summary

A premier data center service provider is looking for an experienced Data Center Technician for freelance work in Windsor, Ontario. In this on-site role, you will support mission-critical infrastructure by performing hardware installations, executing structured cabling, and troubleshooting connectivity issues. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in data centers, strong cabling skills, and professional communication abilities. Certifications in data center and networking are preferred. Flexible scheduling options are available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro).
• Experience with DCIM and ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.

Skills

Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber)

Professional communication skills in English

Ability to lift 50+ lbs

Education

Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, or similar)

Network certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+)

Tools

Standard tools: screwdrivers, cable testers, label makers, fiber inspection equipment
