Job summary

Cressey Development Group, based in Vancouver, is seeking a Corporate Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for corporate and real estate entities. The role emphasizes accuracy, strong internal controls, and timely delivery of financial statements.

Reporting to the Controller, Corporate Finance & Accounting, the position is a 15-month contract with potential extension, offering a stable path within a respected real estate firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA designation, or active progression through the CPA program with relevant practical experience, is preferred.
• Experience in corporate accounting or a similar role, including full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis for multiple entities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Excel and Yardi for report development and data management.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and consolidated reports for assigned entities.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy, month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls across entities.
• Coordinate audits, responses to inquiries, and regulatory reporting.
• Review invoices and expenses for proper coding and approvals.
• Analyze variances, budgets, and actual results to inform decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and meet deadlines.
• Support process improvements and system enhancements, including reporting workflows.
