Job summary

METRO seeks a Continuous Improvement Intern to help enhance store operations within the Ontario region. The role supports pilot projects, data collection, and measurement across multiple banners, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiencies.

The position is a temporary part-time assignment through October 2027, offering hybrid telework, weekly pay, and opportunities for professional development and ED&I initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Training in industrial engineering, operations management, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a food store is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in retail (asset).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (asset).

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and measurement of pilot projects and conduct feasibility studies to demonstrate the profitability of pilot projects.
  • Manage project execution, deliverable quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
  • Define performance indicators, measure and communicate project progress and benefits.
  • Participate in the implementation of continuous improvement tools within our banners.
  • Contribute to the identification of value-added projects.
  • Synthesize and simplify sometimes complex issues and present conclusions in an executive manner.
  • Analyze, document, and map business processes.

The typical salary range for this position is $46 440.00 - $54 180.00 annually. The base salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.

This is a posting for an existing temporary part-time position until October 2027.


Your Mission In The Team

To make our operations in food stores more efficient, Metro is setting up a continuous improvement team whose mandate will be to identify and implement initiatives aimed at improving our operational excellence to better serve our customers. Whether it involves implementing technological solutions or revising ways of doing things, the continuous improvement team will work in collaboration with the operations teams of our banners (Metro Quebec, Metro Ontario, Super C, Food Basics, Adonis) to simplify and improve the experience of our customers and employees.


This position will work in collaboration with a multi-departmental team, and will perform the management, analysis, and measurement of transformation and continuous improvement projects within our banners.
