Job summary

Coast is seeking a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) for casual shifts across Nova Scotia. You will assist residents with hygiene, feeding and daily activities while ensuring dignity and privacy. Travel to multiple facilities is expected, with opportunities for learning and growth.

Applicants should have a CCA/PSW pathway, CPR/First Aid, and be fluent in English. Prior long-term care experience is valued; in-person work at various sites is required.

Qualifications

• Clear Criminal Record check and vulnerable sectors check within last 6 months.
• Current Standard First-Aid and CPR certification.
• Successful completion or enrollment in a CCA/PSW program.
• Registered with the CCA Registry.
• Effective communication in English, both written and verbal.
• Physically fit to perform demanding duties.
• Reliable and punctual with good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene, oral care, skin care, toileting, bathing, feeding, dressing and grooming.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents, staff and information.
• Work within NSAHO Scope of Practice.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control policies.

The candidate must be willing to travel to different facilities across Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene, oral care, skin care, toileting, bathing, feeding, dressing and grooming

• Work within the NSAHO Scope of Practice


• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents


• Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to facility infection control policies
