Job summary

Qualifications

  • Monitor key performance indicators and report results to relevant stakeholders (uses defined metrics to identify areas for improvement).
  • Identifies user experience problems and proposes possible UX solutions based on user research, business goals and technical constraints.
  • Establish success metrics and measure outcomes of digital initiatives.
  • Conduct reviews and usability assessments to identify pain points and barriers within digital experiences.
  • Participate in and conduct user research to inform design decisions.
  • Develop information architecture of both internal and external websites and applications with a focus on findability, discoverability, accessibility, usability and sustainability.
  • Improve content discoverability through search optimization strategies.
  • Ensure digital experiences meet accessibility and usability standards while supporting long-term sustainability and maintenance.

Content Coordinator, University Relations

Primary Purpose: The UX Content Coordinator contributes to the implementation, measurement, and evolution of the digital strategy that engages stakeholders and builds the University of Saskatchewan brand in alignment with strategic priorities and the Mission, Vision and Values.

Nature of Work: Reporting to the Manager, Digital Strategy, the UX Content Coordinator will update and enhance the university website to support institutional goals. The Content Coordinator will work with stakeholders to optimize digital experiences with two key goals in mind: maximize user/customer satisfaction and achieve business objectives.

  • Create interactive experiences: Working within the digital strategy team to create and update the content, structure and flow of the university website by simplifying how users navigate services and programs, leveraging our current UX/UI patterns and testing new ones.
  • User research: Perform user research to discover user goals, inform information architecture, participate in the development of journey maps, wireframes and prototypes. Refine user-centered designs by understanding the intersection of usability and business requirements.

Work is done in the context of enterprise architecture principles, brand standards and data governance frameworks and requires a proactive and creative approach in a complex, academic environment. This position requires a high level of energy and competence, and acts as a change agent to influence and promote a user- and- digital-first approach in support of the university’s goals and strategic plans.

Education: University degree in communications, marketing, interaction design or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience: One year of website development/content creation experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above.

Skills: Experience working within cross-functional teams that are strong advocates for user-centered design principles and methodologies; Experience in Content Management Systems; Flexible, open-minded, willing to adapt to changing/competing priorities, able to manage multiple demands, and skilled in time management; Someone who enjoys learning and continually seeking new ways to grow personally and professionally; Strong written communication and content creation skills; Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva; Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript.

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $53,091.00 - 82,954.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
