What you’ll be doing

As part of the Risk Data Management Office (RDMO), Retail Credit Risk Data Solutions (RCRDS) will participate in the risk management improvement initiatives to ensure the data management and data quality practices are aligned with the Risk Data and Reporting Framework. As a key business contact for the Operational Losses, and stakeholders in Operational Risk, you will play an important role in reconciling operational losses and coordinating the loss entry with all business lines with both agility and accuracy.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

  • Production Support -You’ll coordinate the monthly data processing of operational losses and RDMO runbook activities. Act as primary escalation point and promptly resolve critical production issues when they occur. Monitor and manage the timely resolution of production issues and effectively communicate with key stakeholders.

  • Data Analysis - You’ll provide data, insights, analysis and expertise in all aspects of data management and data quality to help our clients make better decisions leveraging analytical tools and techniques. Own the end-to-end analysis including requirement gathering, data transformation, establishing thorough documentation and building controls related to the integrity of risk data.

  • Relationship Building -You will make an impact in your community and facilitate strong partnership across Enterprise so that the risk data team is viewed as an advisor on key initiatives to provide best possible support affecting timeliness and quality decisions.

  • Focus on Innovation and Simplification -You’ll strive for continual development of analytics knowledge and expertise. Contribute to system and governance process enhancements targeting key operational pain points with focus on issue resolution and efficient resource utilization.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience. In risk management terminology and principles as well as experience in process improvement and project application development lifecycle. It is an asset if you are highly proficient with Data Analysis tools.

  • You have a degree. You have a degree in business, engineering, or equivalent discipline and/or 3+ years of practical experience preferably in a data processing or an analytic role. (SQL, IDQ, Tableau or SAS EG) and bring solid knowledge of relational databases and database concepts.
