Job summary

McDonald’s Canada is seeking a Project Management Consultant to support a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives across the Canadian market. Reporting to the Manager, Project Management, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, support project governance, and drive Stage-Gate processes to keep initiatives on time and within scope.

You will lead change management activities, align stakeholders, and communicate key decisions.

Qualifications

  • University degree with proven analytical acumen; working toward PMP designation is an asset.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of project management experience leading projects and executing PM methodologies and standards.
  • Knowledge of project & change management methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong aptitude with Microsoft Office products: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio.
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Asana) for planning, tracking, and reporting project deliverables.
  • Familiarity and practice with Change Management principle and methodologies considered an asset.
  • Experience coaching or guiding cross-functional teams in project management practices.
  • Strong team player with proven ability to build relationships and foster collaboration across functional areas.

The Opportunity

The Project Management team is seeking a highly motivated Project Management Consultant to support a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives across the Canadian market. Reporting to the Manager, Project Management, this role partners with senior corporate stakeholders, and business leads to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to market objectives.
The candidate will play an integral role in driving execution excellence across multiple programs by coordinating cross-functional teams, supporting project governance, and assisting in crisis-related response activities when required. The candidate will lead and manage our Stage-Gate governance process, ensuring initiatives progress effectively through each phase and governance standards are maintained.

Additionally, this role will involve executing standardized McDonald’s change management activities for programs requiring change support. The candidate will drive stakeholder alignment, enable effective communication, and support the successful adoption and long-term sustainment of key initiatives.

Key customers and stakeholders for this position include Strategic Platform Leads, National and Regional Corporate Management Teams, McDonald’s Owners & Operators, and Supplier partners.

Duties
Championing the Brand
  • Manage project progress, create key reports, and facilitate project status updates
  • Define project/program risks, build & manage mitigation plans to drive efficient decision-making
  • Own project meeting preparation, facilitation, and follow-up on action items
  • Support the communication plan for key messages, project updates, and key decisions that will be used throughout the portfolio of projects
  • Leverage lessons learned from previous projects to lead pre & postmortems, and share out lessons learned with project stakeholders
Better Together
  • Execute strategic enterprise initiatives using strong project management practices, including charter development, scope definition, success metrics, timeline management, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Lead and facilitate the Stage-Gate process, running weekly meetings to keep teams on track, manage agendas, capture key risks and decisions, and drive follow-ups to ensure alignment with governance requirements.
  • Manage cross-functional team relationships, motivate and inspire the team towards the shared goal, and lead through team conflict resolution
  • Build strong relationships and credibility with business leads, project teams and stakeholders
  • Partner with and coach business leads, project teams, and stakeholders, to strengthen their project management skills, guiding them through best practices while driving project delivery
  • Thrive in both independent and team-based environments
  • Demonstrate a strong guest-centric focus and resourcefulness in accomplishing tasks

Committed to Lead
  • Collaborate with Project Leads to define success criteria for program delivery as well as the ways in which success will be measured
  • Create & implement project communication and change plans for Market Governance teams (Enterprise Initiative Governance & Initiative Steering Committee)
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and stakeholder management to drive alignment and results
  • Identify and lead process improvement opportunities to enhance delivery efficiency and governance effectiveness

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $76,799.00 - $102,398.00 per year. This is an existing position.
