Job Summary:
The Consultant is accountable for providing leadership, strategic consultation, and support across multiple functional areas. As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this position is responsible for researching, developing, recommending, and implementing strategic and operational programs, policies, and procedures regarding SaskPower’s organizational structure, operations, and managerial methods; ensuring alignment with departmental and corporate goals.
This position leads the day-to-day operations of digital communication channels for SaskPower, including the website, intranet, social media, and digital newsletters. It also involves participating in projects to enhance digital communications related to technologies, UX (user experience), data analytics, and more.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide strategic and confidential consultation and advice on various functions, offering creative solutions related to management and daily operations.
- Lead and participate in projects identifying current and future business needs, industry best practices, opportunities, and challenges; providing recommendations and executing operational improvements.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams, strategic planning initiatives, workshops, and meetings to develop innovative business solutions.
- Develop, organize, and deliver presentations, reports, and briefings for internal and external audiences.
- Drive and facilitate change by implementing strategic projects or initiatives throughout the organization.
- Develop and maintain strategic networks and business relationships internally and externally to foster a positive, productive work environment.
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams, programs, and staff as required.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications such as Human Factors Usability, IABC Accredited Business Communicator, or CPRS Accredited Public Relations Professional are assets.
- At least five (5) years of experience in digital communications, planning, delivery, and evaluation.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.
- Results-oriented with the ability to manage complex and confidential issues professionally.
- Strong influencing, interpersonal, facilitation, project management, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and foster a culture of safety, innovation, and teamwork.
- Continuous professional development.
