Job summary

Intact is seeking Actuarial Consultants to join our growing team in Canada. You will coach analysts, lead major projects in ratemaking, reinsurance, and data science, and contribute to strategy while guiding colleagues through complex problems.

Required: actuarial experience (5+ years) and a university degree; ACAS/FCAS preferred. We offer a hybrid work model with competitive pay, annual bonus up to 12%, ESPP, and a defined benefit pension plan.

• 5+ years actuarial experience, preferably in P&C.
• Certification in Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial (ACAS/FCAS) preferred.
• University degree or equivalent education and experience.

• Lead large-scale actuarial projects across ratemaking, reserving and data science.
• Work autonomously on strategic projects and provide guidance through reviews.

Salary range (but not limited to):

109,900 - 134,300

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We’re on the lookout for new talent for our growing teams. We’re currently seeking Actuarial Consultants!

What you’ll do here:

• Actively participate in the coaching and training of actuarial analysts
• Work autonomously on challenging and strategic projects in areas such as ratemaking, reinsurance, corporate planning, data science, reserving and more.
• Use your expertise to lead large-scale actuarial projects.
• Demonstrate your leadership by contributing to business strategy discussions, seizing opportunities and sharing your passion and vision.
• Provide guidance to your colleagues through coaching, complex problem-solving and both technical and peer reviews.

What you bring to the table:

• University Degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Certification in Mathematics, Statistic, Actuarial, ACAS or FCAS preferred.
• 5 years or more of actuarial experience (preferably in the P&C Insurance sector).
• Good knowledge of Python, Excel, VBA or SAS.
• Desirable competencies: adaptability, innovative, analytical, decision-making, critical thinking, stellar communication, planning, organizing and team oriented.
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
