Job summary

Minto is seeking a Construction Assistant for Kanata, ON, to support the Construction Team from framing through completion. You will help ensure a smooth customer experience and on-schedule delivery while upholding Minto’s values.

You will contribute by identifying issues, performing repairs, and coordinating with site staff. The role offers day-one benefits, RRSP matching, and opportunities for professional growth in a supportive, family-like culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is an asset.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.
• Computer skills are an asset.
• General knowledge of residential construction repairs.
• Communication skills (listening, verbal and written).
• Dependable/Reliable.
• Team Player.
• Flexible to move to different projects and jobs.
• Bilingualism is an asset.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

• Seek opportunities to assist our homeowners in order to provide an exceptional customer experience;
• Present themselves in a professional and customer focused manner in all interactions with homeowners;
• Review, assess and report any issues on safety to Health & Safety Rep or direct supervisor, includes ensuring protective gear used/worn
• Complete repair lists resulting from quality control MPDI and PDO inspections;
• Assist in identifying and assessing construction deficiencies and perform repairs in a timely manner
• Report defects and damages to Construction Site staff if applicable;
• Conduct interior repairs on windows, doors, frames, baseboards, floors;
• Conduct carpentry finishing, as required;
• Conduct repairs on insulation and drywall, as required;
• Prepare the house for inspections including City and customer;
• Ensure the complete cleanup of the home inside and out;
• Conduct repairs on insulation and drywall, as required;
• Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.

This position helps to support the Construction Team deliver the construction of assigned homes from framing through to completion. It involves contributing to an exceptional customer experience and deliver on schedule, while upholding Minto’s core values. Hiring pay range : $27-$32 per hour
