Job summary

Redpath Canada Limited is seeking a Construction Supervisor to supervise a mining crew and ensure tasks are completed per Site Superintendent instructions. The Shift Boss directs and coordinates activities and ensures resources are available and safety is maintained.

The role requires extensive field leadership and the ability to manage daily operations, safety compliance, and production targets in a demanding mining environment. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years hard rock experience with 5 years at the Supervisory level.
• Ontario Hard Rock Underground Core – Full Basic or provincial equivalent.
• Ontario Basic Underground Hard Rock Front Line Supervisor – provincial equivalent.
• Familiar with Occupational Health & Safety and Mines Regulations.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all directives of management. Read and sign all log books daily
• Ensure all employees have knowledge to work safely and efficiently by giving job-specific instructions daily
• Assist in work scheduling and planning; be aware of changes of conditions in the workplace
• Ensure all equipment is in good repair; coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance scheduling
• Fill out all progress and incident reports that occur during shifts
• Ensure employees are properly trained to operate equipment; arrange training if needed
• Ensure employee safety through compliance with safety regulations and company policies

Rotation: 7 days on 7 days off

Shift Length: 12 hours

Salary Range: $83,000 - $133,000/annum, range is variable and dependent on overtime worked and production bonus paid

Job Summary

The primary role of the Construction Supervisor is to supervise a mining crew on a day-to-day basis and ensure that the tasks assigned by the Site Superintendent are completed as per instructions. The Shift Boss to direct and coordinate the activities and tasks of the work crew, ensuring that all necessary resources are available, and that each member of the crew is working safely.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all directives of management. Read and sign all log books daily
• Ensure all employees have the knowledge to work safely and efficiently by giving all employees job specific instructions on a daily basis and monitor progress
• Assist in work scheduling and planning. Be aware of any changes of conditions in the workplace
• Ensure all equipment is in good repair, have broken equipment scheduled for repair and make equipment available to mechanics when it is scheduled for preventative maintenance
• Fill out all progress reports or accident/incident reports that happen during his/her shift
• Ensure that all employees are properly trained to operate the equipment they will be using. If not, he will train them or arrange for training
• Ensure employee safety through compliance with all safety and mine regulations, as well as company policy and regulations.

• Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
• Following Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions
• Ability to participate and complete incident / accident investigations and take corrective action to prevent injury and / or re-occurrence
• Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.
• Ensure that workers are qualified and capable of performing the assigned work safely
• Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.
• Work in accordance with local legislation

Qualifications

Work Experience:
