Job summary

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, employee-owned company, seeks an experienced Construction Site Representative/Civil Technologist for our Kelowna office on an hourly contract basis. You’ll work with professional engineers and technologists on BC construction inspection projects, ensuring compliance, tracking progress, and delivering clear reports.

You’ll engage in a collaborative environment, grow your role, and contribute to municipal infrastructure projects with a focus on quality

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Contract Administration and Site Inspection experience.
  • Eligible for EGBC as P.Eng or ASTTBC as AScT.
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil Engineering is an asset.
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor contractor operations for contract compliance and drawings.
  • Track progress and schedules; prepare daily/weekly reports.
  • Maintain project records and site diaries; review submissions.
  • Oversee quality control testing and review on-site quantities.
  • Coordinate with clients and sub-consultants; support contract administration.

Job description

The opportunity:

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Site Representative/ Civil Technologist to join our team in our Kelowna office on a hourly contract basis. You will join our vibrant team of Professional Engineers and Technologists on construction inspection projects throughout BC. You will be responsible for undertaking a variety of projects for a varied client base.

What we offer:
  • Hourly compensation range from: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour.
What you’ll do:
  • Monitoring the Contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms, design specifications, and drawings
  • Monitoring progress and schedules
  • Preparing daily & weekly reports
  • Maintaining projects records and site diaries
  • Reviewing contractor work procedure submissions
  • Monitoring of quality control testing
  • Reviewing on-site quantities
  • Contract Administration
  • Coordinating with clients and sub-consultants
  • Effectively and clearly communicating both verbally and in writing with clients, contractors, sub-consultants, and internal staff.

You will have the opportunity to engage in a collaborative work environment, working with a team, as well as other disciplines and offices, and grow your role and responsibilities over time.

Does this sound like you?
  • 5+ years of experience in Contract Administration and Site Inspection.
  • Eligible for professional licensing with EGBC as a P.Eng, or ASTTBC as a AScT
  • An undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution is considered an asset.
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure projects, from active transportation improvements to water, sanitary, and storm main installations.
  • Proficiency in computer programs, including Civil 3D, Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Bluebeam, and modeling software.
  • Familiarity with roadworks construction methodology and the installation of underground utilities, including valve chambers, manholes, and vaults.
  • Familiarity with road and bridge construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • MMCD Contract Administration and Inspection experience is considered an asset.
  • Alternative contract delivery experience is considered an asset.
  • A committed team player with the ability to work independently with minimal direction when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work on-site and in an office setting to prepare reports and assist with other design tasks.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
