Job summary

Summit Search Group partners with a top employer in construction and general contracting to recruit a Manager, Health & Safety. This role leads the Safety Team, integrates safety into planning and execution, and advances the organization’s safety culture across field operations.

The ideal candidate has progressive H&S experience in construction, strong leadership ability, and a track record of practical safety improvements.

Qualifications

Progressive health and safety experience in construction or similar field.
Ability to lead initiatives and influence operations.
Experience leading and developing people preferred.
Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety or related discipline, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Build and continuously improve the health and safety management system (COR, safety cycle, policies).
Lead and develop the Safety Team; set priorities and accountability.
Integrate safety into estimating, start-up, planning, execution and closeout.
Maintain field presence to assess program effectiveness in practice.
Identify risks and implement practical improvements with leadership.
Lead incident investigations and verify corrective actions.
Ensure training and competency systems for employees and Safety Team.
Support project teams with safety plans, hazard assessments and risk controls.
Set expectations for subcontractor safety planning and performance.
